Little Athletics Chiefing Information

13 Nov 2024 by Paul McCallum

Each week the NSLAC are reliant on volunteers helping out by chiefing events – High Jump and Triple Jump – to ensure competition can happen.

NSLAC Chief of Events, Anthony Simcox, puts together a roster to help spread the load and not have the same people doing these roles each week.

It is understood that some people might be hesitant, anxious and even unsure of how to chief – and that is fully understandable.

To assist with this, the NSLAC plan to run training at training for parents on Wednesday nights so you can be shown what to do when chiefing- keep an eye out for this!

Anthony and other NSLAC Committee members are also more than happy to show you the ropes on competition days.
So please ask someone at or around the NSLAC table or just head over to High Jump 3 (the little mat) or Triple Jump and introduce yourself – they don’t bite that hard and are more than happy to help.

To end this long post there are some links to videos that highlight how to chief both High Jump and Triple Jump – so please feel free to take a look:

The NSLAC Committee and families are all here to support each other – but we just need to make sure we all do out bit so it isn’t lumped on the same people each week.

As Confucious said, Many hands makes light work!
