Trial Athletes
Upon arrival, can all Trial Athletes please “check in” at the Whittlesea City Trial
Desk located outside the Recording Room.
This week we will be following Program A as per the run sheet attached. I do try to
follow the run sheet as much as possible but at times will need to move things
around for the flow of events. Some age groups will require to wait longer for
availability of events. Please be patient with us.
Please note you may see that events are free for a short time to wait for an age
group to catch up and to allow free flow of events.
Please remember to be Kind always and help out where you can.
Let’s all work together and make this season the best yet!!

Parent Helper Policy
WCLAC has introduced a Parent Helper Policy to help manage and support the
effective delivery of our weekly competition programs. Little Athletics is a totally
voluntary organisation, Centres cannot operate without the assistance of parents
each week in fulfilling the many and varied duties required. These include
officiating at an event; managing an age group; recording results; working in the
canteen; to name just a few. Most Centres have parent assistance rosters.
Additional assistance is always required on the Centre committees and all parents
and guardians are encouraged to become involved. Little Athletics uniquely offers
opportunities for parents and guardians to actively participate in their child’s
sporting journey. Typically, to conduct a Track and Field competition on a weekly
basis, Whittlesea City Little Athletics Centre (WCLAC) requires between 60-70
parents in a volunteer role.
It is a condition and obligation of registering your child/children in Little
Athletics, that you assist as a volunteer. All families must commit to undertaking
one set up OR one pack up during the competition season.
Each family is required to attain a minimum of 10 parent duty points.
The Parent Helper Policy can be found here and a copy is also attached for your
reference. We request you take time to familiarise yourself with this new policy.
I hope you all have an amazing week and I look forward to seeing you all Saturday.
Regards,
Lisa Hegarty
Competition Director
